I really like SpectraLayers 3 and use it regularly via the Vegas Pro-Sound Forge link.
I especially like the copy/paste function which makes eliminating occasional clicks and low level wind noise in background tracks relatively easy. And it is really good that its development continues.
But from the linked article, I am not seeing any reason to update to SL4 - assuming that a Windows version ensues after Mac. First, I don't use ProTools; second, I don't need grouping (as far as I can foresee); and third, the upgrade price of $USD365 from SL3 - if in the ball park - is high. The upgrade price from RX5 to RX6 was $USD299, well worth it for all the upgraded and new features. Initially sceptical about upgrading from RX5 to RS6, I did upgrade because of the impressive new feature set.
I look forward to the official launch of SL4 to see if there is any reason to upgrade to SL4 (Windows version) from SL3.
