iZotope Mastering plugins

David Johns wrote on 5/29/2014, 1:14 PM
As part of the Vegas Pro 13 upgrade, I got Sound Forge Pro 11 which includes the lovely iZotope Mastering Suite and this shows up in SFP as a VST plugin.

Anyone know why it doesn't also then show up as a plugin in Vegas Pro (12 or 13)?

iZotope Nectar Elements shows up in both.

Regards
Dave

Is THAT where that shows up? I installed it, but wondered where it went.

The mastering plugins of Izotope are locked to Soundforge.

Ah, OK - thanks for that. What with izotope, hitfilm and newblue fx, I was getting in a bit of a tangle over what went where and which element would work with what...

Much appreciated.

Is the MASTERING SUITE Ozone 5 or just some similar parts?

"Ozone 5 or just some similar parts?"
A 'lite' version, so to speak. EQ; reverb; exciter, imager; multiband comp; limiter. A little different GUI than Ozone. Certainly worthwhile having. My version works w/ Vegas pro 9-10, don't know about 11-12-13 since I don't have those.

Hi - I am having problems "finding" my free VST plug in for Nectare Elements in Pro 13.
My post is over in the Pro Audio section if anybody wants to give me a hand.

Thanks,
Bill

Silly question, but did you install it or are you looking for the install program? I found it in my audio F/X in the VST folder.

I can see and use them in both Vegas Pro 13 and Sound Forge Pro 11. For Vegas Pro you MAY need to specify the VST folders in the VST Plugins tab in the Preferences dialog.
In case they haven't already. In my case I had to tell VP13 where both Nectors was; Master/Repair was already located.

That's a good tip, thanks. I hadn't specified anything in Vegas so I'll give it a try. Would be nice to get them working there too.

hmmm that's the first thing I did when I saw above that the plugs where in Sound Forge, added that VST directory but no good. I'll try again... maybe there was a sudirectory?

k, that worked. I used the wrong VST folder last time. Mastering plugs GTG inside Vegas

I'm in a quandry with the Nectar. I can't find it in Sound Forge. Mastering is there which I had to authorize in. It crashed Vegas Pro 13 in attempting authorizing there. At a loss to where the Nectar is or do I need a lamp to rub to get it to appear.....?

iZotope Nectar Elements plugin comes with VegasPro13; it is a separate install.
Must be activated within VP13.
Once activated, it will work in SoundForge, may have to tell SF where to find it.

iZotope Mastering Effects / Repair Tools plugins come with SoundForge; is a separate install.
Must be activated within SoundForge.
Once activated, will work in VegasPro, may have to tell VP where to find them.

thanks for that info. John said at the start of this thread that the Izotope mastering/repair plugins that came with SoundForge 11 were locked to SoundfForge 11. Because of this I didn't even try getting them working.

Having just pointed Vegas to the 32 bit VST folder that contains those plugins I can verify that what he said is not true and what you said is correct. Those plugins are working within Vegas 13.

As I previously stated: "My iZotope mastering plugins work fine w/ Vegas pro 9-10.. don't know about 11-12-13 since I don't have those"
BTW, the iZotope mastering plugins 1 and 2 that were included w/ SF Pro are Direct X, not VST, and were a separate install and authorization process.
Don't know about Necture Elements since I haven't used them.

Not sure about Nictore Elements, but the full Nuctoire is VST.

I can't imagine anybody would bother doing a DirectX version of a plugin these days....

Hate to sound like a noob... but I am. LOL

I was able to activate Nectar Elements by invoking a plugin in VP 13.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to bring up the activation for the Mastering and Repair suite in SF 11. I've tried invoking the iZotope Process-Repair-Izotope plugin, but it doesn't ask me for a key. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong.

What must I do within SF 11 to get to a dialog where I can enter my Mastering and Repair Suite SN?

I had this recently with SF10. SF10 is 32BIT. Is SF11 purely 32BIT or is it now 64BIT? I'd ONLY installed the 64BIT versions of iZotope's RX4 and so SF10 (32bit) couldn't see it. Once I'd installed the 32Bit versions VP10 saw it. Sounds the same to me.
