jacket pic 3 sizes

I prepared a DVD with a jacket picture and then burned it in nero. I opened my jacket picture folder on the burned dvd in my computer drive and I noticed that there are 3 size jacket pics...small, medium and large in the jacket picture folder. I'm just wondering what the three different sizes are for. I don't have a dvd player that supports the jacket picture option so I can't tell if a dvd player that supports this option actually uses all the different sizes.

Thanks

DIfferent players support different sizes and so they can pick the appropriate size for what they need.

Some DVD players also use jacket pictures in other places besides Stop mode. For example, some jukebox players have a menu listing the available discs and will use one of the smaller versions of the jacket picture as an "icon" on this menu.

Some DVD authoring apps give the option of choosing different images for the different sizes. Haven't fiddled around much with DVDA's jacket picture feature, but I get the impression that it doesn't. Shouldn't be too tough to create the MP2 files outside of DVDA (they're supposed to be one GOP in length) and drop them in with the prepared files before burning the disc.

Others use the smallest picture as a screen saver.
If you want to try and create your own jacket pictures you can start here: http://www.madrhino.com/jacketpictures/
