Jeez you guys, what do I do?

Here's a dilema. I'm not brand new to SF, came over from the Dell/Videowave darkside several months ago. Went straight into VF and had a great time. Just a few weeks ago, just about the week before VV4 popped up on our event horizon, I upgraded to VV3 'cause I was bumpin' into limitations with VF. Now VV4 is out. Do I hang in with VV3 for a bit until I'm ready for VV4? Currently just outputting back into DV tape and burning VHS copies for the grandparents and the like. Ultimately, want to get into DVD authoring, etc.

Hey, why would I want to upgrade now??? Grob

Did you receive the e-mail about saving some NICE BUCKS if you upgrade now? That's a financial reason.
Be real...you WILL upgrade someday because you WILL get better at editing in Vegas.
Here are some other reasons to consider:
You can learn all the new features now and incorporate them in your videos now.
VV4 gives you the tools to produce higher quality videos than VV4.
You have a basic understanding of VV3 so you ARE ready for VV4!

The new "sticky" Pre-renders, along with the ability to assemble pre-renders into a "render" .avi, alone, make it worth the price of V4. Get it.

If you can afford it, get it! It's a no-brainer.
I can't. So I won't. Sure wish now I hadn't asked to be notified of the release.
$300 for V4+DVD. I'm sitting here shaking my head and trying to figure out where I can cut expences... :(

What you do is email SF customer support with the date you bought VV3 and see if you qualify for the free upgrade to VV4... If I remember correctly the VV4 beta FAQ said the upgrade to 4 was free if you had purchased VV3 within 30 days... Still have to pay for the upgrade to +DVD, but if you bought it that recently, get in touch with them!

Ahhhh. Thanks for the input. I hadn't accessed the beta site so was unaware of the FAQ you mention. Other input also much appreciated, quite the sales team! Another satisfied Grob.

$300 for V4+DVD.

Isn't that $400?
MyST wrote on 2/6/2003, 6:57 AM
If you're a registered VV3.0 user...you'll be getting an e-mail.

I am a registered user and haven't gotten the email. I paid $400 last night.

What a loser.

Call customer service this morning, and they'll set you up.
You must've paid by credit card, they might be able to credit the $100 difference.
Do yourself a favor and ask. Maybe another $100 worth of SoFo software at no charge?
