jerky image after burning with dvda1

Hi

I have a problem that I hope someone could resolve for me.

I have a project in vegas4 with two videoclips on different tracks. The other is normal and the other is turned upside down 180 degrees with track motion. Then I've used "screen" composition mode so that both videos are seen simultaneously.

I'm rendering with the default pal dvdv option to mpeg2 file from vegas4 and importing it to dvda1. After I prepare and burn the dvd the image is very jerky at some points. I have also used different speeds on the video images and it seems that it has something to with this.

the jerky image only shows on TV, when I preview the dvd on my computer it looks like it should. The other thing is that I did this at my friends business alrady a while ago. I rendered from vegas straight mpeg2 pal dvd format (just as I do now), he used sonic scenarist to prepare and burn the dvd for me, and this one works perfect.

any ideas?

Sounds like you might have rendered with deinterlaced checked.

and you SHOULD check "reduce interlace flicker"

Nope not the problem you suggest. Tried all and both in everyway, I totally suspect that DVDA does something to the igage after its been rendered to mpeg2?

Any more suggestions?

What DVD player are testing playback on? Are you using the latest update of DVDA1 (i.e. 1.0d build 230)?

Problem solved, but in the most curious way imaginable.

I remembered that I used "DVD architect PAL video stream" template and not the "DVD PAL" template when we did the DVD before using Sonic Scenarist, so I just gave it a go. Now it works and is the video looks completely as it should.

The strange thing is that there is absolutely NO difference in the video or audio settings between templates "DVD PAL" & "DVD architect PAL video stream". A bug????

Possibly, although I can't repro. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the "DVD PAL" template?
