Jerky image in preview and in trimmer

I have a video camcorder Sony NEX-VG10E and Vegas movie studio HD Platinum 10.
After I download the .m2ts files from my camcorder to the computer, I open them and the problem is that the image is jerky in preview and in trimmer. I have respected all the System Requirements and I use as OS Windows 7.
Is it a setting of the software that would resolve the problem or should I install a codec?

Read the "Optimize Vegas for speedy video preview" section here http://eugenia.queru.com/2008/12/19/sony-vegas-hints-and-tips/
If that doesn't help either, then you need a faster computer. Vegas won't support any other codec but its own for .m2ts files.
