jesus christ...No vegas 2.0 update yet?

JoeD wrote on 9/28/2000, 10:38 PM
What the hell is going on here?

I still havn't been able to use my Vegas 2.0. Can we get
the damn updates please?

This is so unprofessional it's unbelieveable.

I get crashes when recording 13+ tracks (same time) after
over a 1:30 of recording 24-bit/44.1 tracks .....this
didn't occur with Vegas 1.0b.

I get freezes/crashes when resizing window views in either
playback or recording (again....does not happen with Vegas
1.0b).

VA2.0is just plain BETA (MAYBE ALPHA) right now. Crashes
everywhere.

1.0b is pretty damn solid on my system....but 2.0 is a
complete mess.

I'v provide SF with bug repros and debug information A LONG
TIME AGO....what's up with that?
Can we get the damn updates so we can start using this
thing?
How frustrating.

I'm also SICK OF HEARING ABOUT VVIDEO AND ALL THE TECH HELP
THAT APP GETS.....I SEE NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM APP
(VEGAS 2.0). How about some statements on that SF?

Tell us what's being fixed at least.

Joe,
I'm sorry that Vegas Audio hasn't worked out for you yet. I'm on the
video team (probably not something you want to hear about), but I'd
like to try and narrow down your problems so we can look into fixing
your crashes. There are some nice feature additions in Vegas Audio
2.0, so we'd like to get it working for you. If you have some spare
time, could you provide some information for me?

First off, I'd like to know what hardware you are using. Mostly, I'd
like to know what audio setup and processor you are using. How much
RAM, operating system and Video Card would also be helpful.

Secondly, I'd like to know what kind of crashes you are getting. Are
you getting program crashes, system crashes, program locks or system
locks? When you get a crash, what type of notification do you
receive? If the crash-box has dump information (registers, memory,
etc...), could you please cut and paste the contents and email them
to us?

Knowing what setup you have will make it possible for us to reproduce
your problem, hopefully leading to a solution.

Thank you,
Matthew Chaboud

Amen.
After reading the posts on this forum I refuse to crack
open and install Vegas Audio 2.0 and install it when 1.0b works
pretty darn good. At AES last week I searched for Sonic Foundry
and they... weren't there. I actually started hanging around
the Digidesign booths and looking at 001. I felt dirty, but
there sure were a lot of people there ready to talk with me,
help me, ask me questions... and the BombFactory plug-ins are
really pretty cool.
Ugh, I hope SF doesn't make me jump ship.

It sure would be nice if SF would at least release whatever patches
they 'might' already have, and who knows, it might even contain the
bug fix that I really need, such as:
CPU hogging
or better yet,
The Rendering Fiasco (TRF)

TRF is truly unforgiveable. How could nobody catch this during beta
testing? Don't you perform any mixdowns? Truly embarrassing.....
Regards,
A Share Holder (can't afford to get rid of the stock because I'd lose
too much..... ~85%....I feel nauseous.)

Please see Lance Linimon at SF.... I am not about to go through all
the damn bug testing again for you guys.
I provided EVERYTHING FOR HIM and your dev team....DON'T TELL ME YOU
IGNORED IT ALL.

This is making me even angrier.

He has ALL the info you asked for in my question in the Vegas forums
regarding VA2.0 crashing.

this is regarding post in Vegas forum:

FIX THAT

Ask risk of beating this into the ground or being useless info, it
doesn't only happen in Sound Forge, Cool Edit is assigned as my
editor, and the same happens there.

yes, it is the output file that vegas generates that is messed up...
dont worry about beating this into the ground, as your voice helps

now, if we can explain to sf what " copy " means, we'll be in
buisiness

I am with you Ian.
I am producing a big Gospel-music CD, with Band, brass, choir,
solists and stringorchestra.
Tomorrow the mixdown is going to start.
I produced eveything with Vegas2.0a and mixtreme-card and I have some
bugs in Vegas and it would be really nice to have them fixed.
SF told me next update maybe next week.
This would be really nice.
have great work and good bless you all SF users and friends.

I am sick of you dorks f**king up all posts that pertain to SF tech
help and/or people with similar issues to the original post.

What the f**k is with you morons?....are you all that bored?
Go download a life.

Keep posts like this pertinant to the original topic. Now we have to
wade through your LAME ASS COMMENTARIES ON SOME FICTITIONAL CHARACTER
SUPPOSEDLY SITTING ABOVE DOLING OUT SUITES FOR YOU WHEN YOU KICK THE
BUCKET....meanwhile the topic of the post gets clouded with your
stupid banter.

WERE ALL WORMFOOD when we kick it....rules are simple - just be a
good person and do the right thing. Promote life, and stick up for
those weaker than you. Be a man (or woman) you idiots.

I don't need to hold on desparately to the belief in some bearded
white guy created to ease the guilt and pain of the reality.

The bible is a book of FICTION you monkeys....It's a good book....but
so is 20,000 leagues under the sea (even better book).

Now - let's keep all further religeous beliefs OUT OF THE DAMN VEGAS
FORUMS.
