Jittering blue screen when printing to tape

I have an HP Pavilion notebook and am using Vegas Video 4.0. I have an Adaptec PC card fire wire hub to get video to and from the computer.

I am able to capture video perfectly, and put together a project without and problems. But when the time comes to put it out on video, my camera begins recording, then flashes a jittering blue screen. When reviewing the recorded video afterwards, there are just random flashes of frames amidst jumping blue screen. This is not only a Vegas problem, as I used Pinnacle before and had the exact same problem. All bios updates have not worked and HP has not provided any solution.

Can anyone out there help me?

What are you notebook specs?

Since you had the same issue with another product - it may not be the applications, but rather your sytem?

Try turning OFF all power saving features.

Try turning OFF all extra applications.

Is this XP? Turn OFF the firewire card in networking.

Check the firewire cable and camera driver

I just went through the exact same problem, I tried everything to fix it and nothing worked, finally I bought a diffrent firewire card and put it in and it wors fine now. I'd have to assume that that is your problem as well.
