Jittery Video

I just bought Vegas Video 3.0 I had Videofactory for the longest time and I loved it, not many problems. But now that I have Vegas Video 3.0 when I preview my video, it jerks the video back and forth every couple of seconds like it is have trouble keeping up. The audio sounds fine. I have a 7200 RPM hard drive. BUT, with Videofactory and a 5400 RPM hard drive, I never had that problem. Does anyone have a solution?

This same thing happened to me with a new 7200 drive. I did two things:

1- I am running Windows 2000 Prof so I applied the latest service pack (2). (I think that included a fix for large hard drives or additional ide controllers)
2- I made sure that each of my ide controllers was running in DMA not PIO (hardware manager).
