Jittery video after burning

I am working on 4 projects all renderend from vegas as mpeg2 NTSC. First project was OK, video is nice and crisp. Then the next project didnt look as smooth. The video appeared like a motion blur jittery effect when ever there is sudden movement on the screen. I've tried so many things and its wasting alot of valuable time for me.

I dont know if it is a render issue, because I rendered them all the same.

Has someone experienced the same thing? Can someone please asssit me in this frustrating matter.

Thanks Sam

Make sure you are not using the default template when rendering your MPEG-2 - always specify the DVD Arch NTSC (or PAL if you live in PALland) Video template.

Which template are you using in Vegas?? The DEFAULT template will produce awful results. NEVER use it. Use one of the DVD Architect templates.

Also, check the "Optimize" setting (under the File menu) in DVDA and make sure that your video is NOT being recompressed (you should have a green check mark next to it).

That's exactly what I use, the DVD ntsc template.

Ok, now I can go back and try something new..a few hours of rendering again.

Thanks guys.

On another rendering issue, is it best to render lower, upper or none in the field order? Or does one check which order the video file is in and stick to that? Because one person told me that jittering has something to do with field order.

Thanks

If you use the proper template you shouldn't be mucking about with the field order.

If you change the field order you definitely will get exactly the problem you describe. Don't touch it, and don't change it to progressive.
