Position Title: Product Marketing Manager
Location: Madison, WI
General Responsibilities:
Assist in establishing the strategic direction for Sonic Foundry’s multimedia software products and managing their overall product life cycles (with emphasis on video software products.)
Develop Product Marketing Plans for Sonic Foundry’s products to ensure they have the right mix of features and benefits based on market requirements.
Act as the chief internal communicator of product related initiatives and launch activities.
Author Software Requirements Documents and accurately describe customer needs to Engineering and other internal departments.
Develop business cases for new products and services.
Ensure timely and successful launches of company products and services and perform post launch evaluations.
Collaborate on promotional strategies and ad campaigns.
Maintain and communicate solid competitive competencies to Sales and Engineering.
Recruit and lead cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of new products, updates and upgrades.
Develop new sales channels and market opportunities.
Create tools and programs, which facilitate sales and produce profitable results for the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
Previous video and multimedia production experience strongly preferred
3-5 years of product management/development or marketing experience, preferably with a multi-channel distribution software company
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to identify customer needs and translate them to actionable marketing tactics
Previous experience taking products from product discovery to market launch
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel as necessary
