Jog My Memory

Years (and years) ago, around 1972, I video taped a high school play on a reel to reel video machine. The tape is probably similar in width to VHS. It was b/w with terrible picture quality. Well, the tape ended up in the hands of an actor friend of mine who also appeared in that play.

The problem, neither he or I can remember the format that the reel was recorded on. If I knew the format, then just perhaps I can find a machine somewhere to recover the program.

Any takers?

It sounds like the machine I first edited on (showing my age here!!) which was a Sony AV-3600 or 3650, an EIAJ 1/2" open reel unit.
Vidpax is one place that does restoration of obsolete formats.

There were half inch reel to reel machines in use for AV back then.
I believe they were IVCs,---something like that.
