Join events

Yo all. I cannot find the bit in the manual that allows you to join all your events togeteher thus removing any gaps. I have a book I have just bought from Amazon by VASST but it is not up to date with the latest VMS. I think it says to do this job you press ctrl+x or something of that ilk. But it don't work with the new one. So let's say I have 200+ events and I want to eliminate any open (black) frames, and I want to eliminate them all in one fowl swoop what is the proc please?

There's nothing i know of to accomplish this in any version of Vegas.

Eh? That's weird I thought I saw something. OK. What it I have say 2 events and I place event 2 a few frames away from event one. I was sure there is a keypress seq to make them close the gap and butt them together. I don't know if I explained my previous post on this correctly but, I will rephrase it. I want to join all the events together ened to end with no gaps. Are you saying I have to do this manually?
And if so is the a quick way just to join 2.

If you have snapping enabled then you can put all the events on the timeline without gaps to begin with. Simply slide each event up against the previous one when placing it on the timeline and you won't have gaps.

If you have ripple edits on then sliding an event on the timeline will move all the events after it as well. This will prevent having gaps appear when moving clips. However, if you have multiple gaps already you'll have to close each one up individually.
