Joining .avi file segments seamlessly?

Hi all. I finally got past the 4GB limit using iuVCR to capture. It broke the capture into 4 sections. Now, I want to join them up in VV to make a seamless file. Is this possible? I have searched all over this board for an answer but have found nothing but a pounding head.
There must be a trick to snapping the parts together but I have no idea how to do it. Can anyone help out?
Much appreciation,
Chris

It's very easy to do. Place the first one on the timeline. Place the second one after it; when you move it close to the right position it will "snap" into place. Repeat for the rest of the files.

If you have Options / Preferences / Editing / Automatically overlap unchecked, then you may simply double-click each file in order and they will automatically butted together seamlessly.

Thanks Chienworks,
That worked perfectly. Unfortunately, when my file was split, there is a small audio/visual gap there which makes it not seamless. arrgghhh, so close to getting this. the iuVCR prog is the only one I have found that works on my PC. Cant get vdub or any of the others to work becuase of the WDM drivers.
My question is this, and I've asked it in another post already but maybe you know.
Can VV do the file splitting while capturing? It would seem so since its such a powerful program but I cant figure out how to make it work. Any ideas?
Thanks so much for the help...

Yes by setting file size limit in the capture settings.
I always set this 730Mb (3 min 13 second of footage) so that I can always burn the file(s) to 80Min CD's - I really need a DVD burner!
(I always record all my source on CD after the project is finished)

They join seamlessly (I cannot pick a fault with this), however it is a pain when you want to add an effect that goes between 2 or more files. It would be nice if VV could link the 2 or more scenes as 1, so that the effects and key frames would see the combined scenes as one event.

PS I also regularly use VV to split files as well, this works well, provided you ensure

the auto fade on the audio is turned off (somewhere in the settings).

Assuming you have "quantize to frames" enabled, there should be no video gap. as far as audio goes, that too should be gapless. Q2F makes sure that the clips are sized on frame boundaries.

You might have an issue with the audio being off-sync a tad with the video, so your 2 clips might look like:

...VVV | |VVVV...
...AAAAA| | AA...

in which case you can split the audio & video tracks independently to arrive at:

...VVV|VVVV...
...AAAAA|AA...

If for some reason the clips have some empty padding, you may have to trim the edges before you join

As far alternate capture tools go, someone else will have to help you.

Yes, I had "quantize to frames" enabled. I dont know how to trim the ends though so that might be a problem.
I want to use VV instead of another capture program but like I said, I cant seem to get it to capture into different clips.
To set the file size you say to go into capture settings. Is that under capture->Options-> Preferences-> Disk Management->Maximum Size per DV clip (MB)? Thats the only place I can see where you can change a size of a file. Then there's "overflow when disk space below" right below that.
Someone suggested that I changed this size to 2048 MB and it would roll over into a new capture. I tried that but once it got to about 14 minutes, it just stops recording. Thats where I'm having trouble.
I do appreciate the info and I feel like I'm getting close. Unfortunately, the pdf manual doesnt tell you how to do this and I cant find out anywhere else.
Thanks,
Chris
