Thanks BB! - Didn't last long.... again you are ALWAYS right!!

Jake-Da-Snake!! - [Where DID you get that handle anway?] - Ahem - without wiriting toooo much here, go to the Online Help, SoFo has put together some sort of GIF file which gives you a pictorial explanation . . .. . basically : 3 Clips - A -B - C - Right click and KEEP depressed on clip 3 - NOW move cursor and clip [ only the outline showing here ] and move it to the point between A/B - 2 itsy-bitsy triangly thingies appear - Now RELEASE the outline -PLOP! IN goes the clip - fan-bloody-tastic!!!

Hoooyyah! That's better . . . . . Don't worry BB ... back on form - until the next amazing thing I can do in V4.

Oh up date on my new PC? - Looking at the P4 3.06 -DUAL HT plus 3x 120 drives - yaaaahhhoooooo..... PC WOrld are still waiting to get the final bedded down versions of the MoBo worked out - THEN WATCH OUT BOYZ -

WARNING- You must have the "Shuffle-Edit" icon on - well.... I suppose you must have gathered that - otherwise it just plops down the dragged clip over what was there - obvious really!

Jake-Da-Snake? There used to be a pro wrestler by that name, years ago, he hit hard times and kind of fell off the major TV show circuit. Saw a documentary on him, other old timers, rather sad showing him show up for some show in some little town with maybve 30 people in the audience. This wrestler used to have a big snake in a sack, would pull it out at the right time during the match. File under useless information...

BTW, I'm only right 97.234% of the time. Well maybe only half the time, I don't keep score. <wink>

Grazie,
What shuffle edit icon? When I move an event by right-click-dragging it, I gets a little menu saying Move here, Copy here, Shuffle events or Cancel. What do you run on, Rocket Morton?

Well I feel kinda stupid but I cannot find the shuffle edit icon.....or the online help gif you were talking about.

The kind that came in a bottle. Yes. :-)
Grazie wrote on 5/28/2003, 4:50 PM
Okay . . . It's :

"Auto Ripple" Icon - ON

....and,

"Shuffle Events" - Drag and Drop

. . . . . I've brought it all together as - " Shuffle-Edit "

And yes, do an online search for "Shuffle" - Go down to "Whats new in Vegas 4" - Go down to Editing, and pick up "Event Shufflling" - There you will find this animation I speak of. - Okay? - Me BAD for bringing it all together as "Shuffle Edit" . . . Any way give it a go it's THE Business

I found something NEW I haven't seen mentioned in the forum or catalog or nowhere.
I'll post as a new topic too, since this thread is getting a "little" silly.

A goodie...

A real whoopee...

One a lot have asked for, including me...

SoFo stuck it in and didn't say anything...

Ready?

Almost...

Not Quite...

Teasing...

Transitions over multiple items at ONCE!

Wow!

Finally!

Go to Help. What's New, Video, then read all about addition of transitions to all selected events. That made my day.

Marquat, you're very welcome! I'll own up to, "Enthusiasm over Brevity" - BB, BIG wink! ;-)

You can add an FX to multiple selected events too.

I also just found this shuffle edit along with LOTS of other features I didn't know about. It is in a SOFO whitepaper, available here:

Vegas 4.0c Whitepaper

John, I'll tell you what, I read the White too. It's as if I need to have a requirement to do something that I then try harder to experiment with a new function - almost as if I "stumble" across it. This must be quite frustrating for SoFo developers. Almost - What do we have to do to bring it to this bloke's attention?! - Sorry Guys 'n Girls, it's the way I am. Somethimes I wish I was different. - Just had a similar "experience" in working out the Bin Creation for workflow while in Advnace Capture [ another thread posted already ].

John, perhaps I'll now re-read the WP with more than nod to Vegas4's unique functionality . .. . .

Yours, most humbly,

Grazie
