Just got a laptop and need new serial number..

I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0 on my regular, home desktop computer and I just recently bought a laptop. When I try to install the install file from my desktop, onto my laptop, it asks for another serial number. Is it possible for me to get another serial number for the program on my computer?

I can provide any information you need.

Also, if this is the wrong place to ask for this, where do I ask? Thanks.

Use the same serial number you used on your desktop computer. You have to enter the serial number and activate the software every time you install it. You are allowed to install it on as many PCs as you own, you're just only allowed to use it on one at a time.

If you want to use it on both computers at the same time then you need to buy another license, which will include another serial number.

If you log on to your Sony account and look at the drop down menu at the top of the page, under "My Account" you will find "My Software" which lists all the serial numbers of your registered software.

You do not need to disable - you may, however, only use Vegas on one machine at a time.
