Probably the best way to find out is to try it. Does the camera have both A/V inputs and outputs? If it has A/V outputs, then connect an external monitor to the output and try either printing to the camera or sending the preview window to the external firewire device. If you see a display on the external monitor then it works.
Checking for passthrough from A/V is a little more involved. Connect an external source such as a VCR to the camera's A/V inputs, set the camera to whatever is necessary display this signal on it's LCD monitor. UNcheck VidCap -> Options -> Preferences -> Enable DV device control. See if you can capture or at least monitor what's coming from the VCR on VidCap's preview window.
You may have to do some digging through the manual for camera menu options to enable these things.
You may need a optional plug too if your camera supports pass through. I need a "S" plug on the VCR end and a firewire (small IEEE 1394) plug on the camera side.
