just say no to recompression

a question for those who know:
How can I avoid recompression when rendering?
I'm using primarily a high quality Picvideo AVI codec.
But even when I use the same codec and compression settings for rendering it seems that Vegas is recompressing the footage unnecessarily.
Is there and shure fire way to tell wether or not Vegas is recompressing - some guaranteed method for rendering without recompression?
-- it's for quality and speed reasons of course.
thanks a lot

As far as i know, your options for recompressionless rendering are the following:

Uncompressed AVI -> Uncompressed AVI
~ or ~
DV AVI -> Uncompressed AVI
~ or ~
DV AVI -> DV AVI

Any other combination will result in decompression/recompression when rendering. Even the above choices will result in recompression if you have applied any effects, titles, fades, crossfades, compositing, color correction, etc.
