I am trying to record and avi file form the Print to tape funtion in the Vegas Video program to the DVHS machine the way I archive to my DV camcorder. When I connect the computer to the DVHS recorder via ilink (DV In) the computer says it needs a driver. As far as I know this driver does not exist. Any suggestions?

Check this site for loading the driver. www.cineform.com. Also
I do not think you can PTT to this machine from vegas. You will need a third party codec such as "Connect HD"

Not sure if this is what you are talking about but I just asked almost the exact same question last week and Spot asked why I would need the "JVC" driver. Maybe this is why? In any case I did manage to get JVC - CANADA (!) to respond. Here is what they told me -

The driver needed is provided with the Windows XP OS. When installing the

*however* you said you were trying to do a PTT - if you are trying to output HDV/D-VHS direct from Vegas you can't. DV out should work however - but there is a trick to it from what i can figure out. There are 2 firewire inputs on the deck and only one of them accepts DV, so for outputting DV material from Vegas to the deck you need to make sure you are going into the correct input on the deck. Also your DV material will not be uprezed to HDV - it will still be DV, except it will be on a D-VHS tape.
