JVC Print To Tape Problems

Anyone have any experience making a JVC GR-DVL725 work properly with Print To Tape? I can capture from it just fine, but Print To Tape has problems. First, it doesn't seem to work at all unless the camera is plugged into the computer and turned on before bootup. If I don't do it this way, Vegas tells me the camera is offline, and I can't even manually trigger the camera. When the JVC does respond to clicking the record to device button, it doesn't record properly. This is not going to be easy to describe, please bear with me. The file does not "play" or "sream" to the camera according to what I see on the cameras monitor. Instead it flashes a frame from the program, shows a blue screen, flashes another frame, etc. The time doesn't move properly either. Listening to the transport of the camera, it almost sounds like it is continuously starting and stopping. The JVC works fine in shooting mode, so it doesn't appear to be a screwed up transport.

Any hints or ideas?

I used to use a JVC and for whatever reason I found it to be "Vegas challenged". I assume you are using VV3. Try this:
Get your PC/Vegas to recognize your camera by plugging it in prior to starting up the PC.
Go to the Media Pool and click on the 3rd icon to the right (camcorder)at the top. That opens the VidCap. Click on the "Print to Tape" tab at the top.
Then go to "File" > "Open" and select the clip you want. It will appear in the screen and the clip box on the right.
You should be able to click on "Record to Device" and it will start the print to tape process.
You might have to get your JVC ready to record (pause), then hit the "play" button in the Vegas VidCap to start the clip and release the pause on the JVC to start recording.
Print pages 302 to 304 in the PDF Manual for Vegas and keep them near your PC for reference.

Yes, I'm using VV3, hoever, I tried using VV4 with the same results. I did connect the camera before I turned on the PC as well. Doing that the computer would put the camera into record mode and start the print to tape function, but the camera would record snapshots of the clip. At least that is what it looked like. A frame would flash on the camera's monitor, then it would appear blue, then another frame would appear, then it would go blue again, over and over and over. I have printed to other cameras (a Panasonic mini-DV and a Sony digital 8) with no trouble so I don't think the computer is the problem. It also doesn't seem to matter whether I use the print to tape function in the capture application or try to print from the timeline. The results are, from what I can see, the same. Perhaps it just isn't going to work with this camera. That's too bad, because that is a "house" camera.
