I'm working on a corporate video and the text media (Sony Text) keeps disappearing. The actual text is replaced with "Sample Text" or just disappears completely leaving the action on the timeline with no text. Any ideas?
Look at the keyframe timeline section at the bottom: got more than one?
If so, it's probably that. Let me 'splain:
Say your text is 5 seconds long in total duration. When you first open it up and edit "Sample Text" to whatever you want, noodle the other properties, etc. It looks fine. The values are by default in the first (and for now only) keyframe. But...
If you edit something at say 2 seconds in or at the end, another keyframe will show up reflecting the new values. So...
If you have more than one keyframe, click on each to make sure that they have text and properties you want. If you have "Sample Text" still happening, one of them has to be the culprit. Delete it or match its values to the keyframe that is showing the right text.
I sometimes run into this "whudahell is going on?" because I like to have different values (i..e. tracking or leading by the end of the text run. If I don't have the exact same text in all keyframes, one of them will override the others (usually the earlier one in the timeline).
Looks like it's one of those one-appearance-only threads where the questioner posts a Q yet never checks back to view and/or acknowledge answers given.
Ah, life in 21st century cyberspace.
Whatever happened to 20th century conversational courtesies...
