Is it possible to have the time marker stay in the center of the screen during playback. Thus, the audio would move and the marker would stay still. This is opposed to the default, where the time marker moves from left to right.
Sound Forge does this, but then Sound Forge only deals with a single
stereo or mono track (and up to one video track). I would assume this
is a processor speed issue. Perhaps as 1.5GHz and faster machines
become the norm, Sonic Foundry will add this feature to their multitrack
products as well.
no matter how fast the processor is you'll be compromising a lot to get this ability. (the cpu would be better utilized making sure your preview window is as smooth as possible with the highest possible quality) but it would look kind of cool i suppose.
why would it take such processing power. its just a matter of moving the peaks. the program builds a peaks file, right? how tough is it to move those peaks from left to right? I'm sure thats nothing comared to the processing needs of most any video game.
right, but the video preview window is more important to me... i don't want any cpu power to be wasted if i can have a higher frame rate instead.
the little video snips that show up on the clips have to be recalculated often and that would be keep the cpu busy at least for a little bit, especially when the project has several tracks.
but you can use the '\' backslash key to keep centering the cursor and if you hold it down you get almost the same type of thing! probably not exactly what you are looking for, but it shows promise!
