key frames??

Hi All

How can I change the thumbnail that is shown of a clip. I think the default is the first frame of the video. Is it possible to change this to be the 10th frame for example? I seem to remember seeing a setting somewhere but cannot remember where.

Also are they called keyframes?? Representative frames??

Good question. I am not sure there is a way to do this. If the event is long enough, you get several thumbnails. As you change zoom levels, those thumbnails change. I don't know of anyway to have just one thumbnail for the entire clip that stays fixed as zoom levels change, or of a way to change that thumbnail.

The Media Manager in V6 allows you to select the frame used for the thumbnail. Is that what you were looking to do?

Is this what you might be looking for?

In video capture go ---Options, Preferences, Preview ----and then you can choose your "Default thumbnail frame" from the list you see in that box.
