key framing has gone awry

Hey Guys and Gals,

I don't know what I've done, but this couldn't have happened at a worse time.

I'm mid project and the accuracies of my keyframes has gone awry.
For example, say i am keyframing a text object in Track Motion. If i reposition or resize the object, it creates a keyframe, but the result of that keyframe is not updated (refreshed) until the next frame. This is awefully frustrating and I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with it, as I am doing some very complex tracking.
Any ideas?

My problem is actually twofold. Because of this problem, I updated Vegas from 6C to 6D to see if this would correct the problem, but it didn't, and now Vegas is not seeing the contents of one of my sound fx folders. In the Explorer Tab, the folder appears empty, and when loading a project, it can't find any of the sounds from that particular folder....

Phew! Definately NOT what I need to deal with whilst in the thick of a project. Got a deadline of this coming Monday and starting to stress!
Any help will be gratefully received,

T

Hey there Grazie,

I think that I may have sorted both problems out. I realised the Audio problem was because the Mpeg Plugin had not registered. I uninstalled and did a clean install, registered the plugin and everything seems okay with those problems, but now another has surfaced.

I am getting an intermittent high frequency beep in my audio during playback. It is happening independent of the audio tracks, in that I can mute all the audio tracks and it still happens. I use a MOTU 828mk2 sound card but it doesn't seem to be that, because i still get it when i switch to the microsoft wave drivers. It is only happening in Vegas..... Any ideas?

intermittent high frequency beep

One cause: unregistered software.

nope, that's the first thing i did. this is all legitimate software!

Are you kidding johnmeyer, or will it really do that if you're unregistered?

Edit: I'm assuming you're kidding, but who knows.. :)

And the nightmare continues...

Because of what John suggested, I did another clean install and when attempting to register yet AGAIN, now getting the ol "you have activated this software too many times, contact Sony Customer Service for activation code" message.

I rang Mark at NewMagic here in Oz and he has to get an activation code from Sony US. He also said that this type of beeping is definately NOT inherent in Vegas because of registration/non registration. Vegas simply does not behave in that way.........

Well, this has certainly *#@%$#* up my deadline! Thanks Sony.

dibbkd: Nope, he's not kidding. I installed Noise Reduction, didn't realize that its registration needed to be activated, and spent the next 90 minutes trying to figure out why the "beep" kept coming. For a while I figured I had done something awful when shooting tape. Wrist-cutting time!

Fortunately, someone on this Forum clued me in on the problem and I've edited happily ever after.

I'm sure it's done so you can try the application to see if it does the job for you, but you can't use it in production until you've paid for it.

Jack, I read this in the download notes yesterday. BUT, it doesn't urgently say or spell out what or why you need it. I guess explaining this would have saved a bit of heartache and hair-pulling:

Important Note: In order to install the Noise Reduction 2.0c plug-in, you will need to:

In any event, apart form the vinyl thingy, is there any reason to update?

I wasn't suggesting it was illegitimate, only that it might need to be registered.

Are you kidding johnmeyer, or will it really do that if you're unregistered?

Yup, that's what several of the Sony products do if not registered. Not sure what the Vegas "crippling" mechanism is, but I know you get a beep with SoundForge, and I think with the noise reduction.
