I have been editing with Vegas for years now, mostly using the mouse and menus to get around and not so much the keyboard shortcuts. Now I find myself with a bit of carpal tunnel in my right hand and am having to make some workflow changes. I've started using a trackball left handed. The first week was pretty frustrating, but I'm getting the hang of it now.
I am also learning the keyboard shortcuts and have a few questions. One is that since my trackball has no scroll wheel (I don't believe that any that can be used left handed do), zooming in and out of the timeline is a bit of a pain. The control / up down arrows button combo works but jumps in pretty big increments. Is there a more fine tuned way to zoom in and out of a timeline with keyboard shortcuts?
The other thing that I do all the time that seems really akward is to ungroup the audio from the video of a clip, move the edges of where the audio comes in and stops so that there is a little extra video in front of and behind the audio. Then I regroup this audio and video. Is there some key I can hit so that I can move the audio boundaries without affecting the video where I can avoid all these step?
