Actually it hasn't been turned off, it's just hidden. I personally feel it's a bug with Vegas (noticed it first on V7 but SONY support hasn't been able to duplicate it).

If you hover your cursor over the bottom edge of the window until it turns into two parallel horizontal bars you can drag up to reveal the controller area. Once the window is closed while the controller area shows, it should remain that way.

In my case that is true for the session of Vegas (v7 or v8), but when I open a new instance of Vegas, either an existing or new project, I have the same issue.

HTH,
Tom

Hey Tom,

Thanks for tip - works a treat. I had noticed the two line cursor and thought that was just a blip in the program !

Now noticed that a couple of others have had this proble as well so maybe Sony will accept there is a problem now,

Thanks again.

It is not a bug, it is a feature!

However you left it, is how it will be when you return. If this is NOT how it is working then report it.

Grazie

Grazie,
I did report it, gave SONY a detailed script to follow, in turn followed their suggestion to reset things, yet the problem will not go away. As well, SONY support has not been able to repro it and for me it only happens on one of the two systems I use. Again, I did not have this issue on v6. However, it's good to know that I am not imagining the problem.
Hmmmmm.....
