Basically the idea behind keyframes is very simple. You set a keyframe where you want something to start, a ending keyframe where you want something to end. The keyframe controller has two important areas. Where you set the keyframes and the work area where you change the frame how you want it to appear by adjusting the handles of the bounding box.

Vegas can fill in the intermediate frames or you can tinker youself.
