"....and decide I want to key all of them across the screen at the same time...", well I've just tried the following. It means you do need to go to each track separately, but you can copy and paste from one Track Motion K/F set up to the one below, then onto the one below that, then on to the one below . . . . . until you have keyframes space exactly the same for each track. You can Shift Click each event to select a range of Track's events - and move them with their keyframes still in place; you can also Ctlr Click to select individual events to move together . .. is this what you are after?
..... soooo . . . that's frameserve to another instance of Vegas? Or what? - I seeem to have lost the plot on this. I know it should be staring me in the chops - but, nope . .. please explain . . .or a thread link would be awfully kind.
Go to view and check video bus track. This will open a bus track for final output. You can then add effects, key frames, etc.. to the final output just like any other track. Go to online help and search for Video bus tracks and click on adding key frames, effects for an explaination of how to do it.
I just tried it. Since is places effects and keyframes on the final track you have to set effects you do not want in effect to nil for the portion of the track that you don't want effected. Works fine. I added several effects to parts of the track and keyframed each effect. It's a trip how one can keep finding new and useful functions in Vegas even after using it for a while.
Also there are a number of very cool plugins available for Vegas. Some are even free. Check URL:http://www.debugmode.com/forums/ for "plug N' Pac and Frameserver. Also, "Excalibur" is a set of scripts that make life much easier and it is very cheap.
Dennis - I believe the "clue" here was " . . at the same time . .. " - yeah?
Wobbly - Neat! Having a go now. I did ask what one could do with this new feature - now I too have added to my own KB for V4! - Does the "Nil" apply to P/C?
Yes, open another instance of Vegas and frameserve the first project on it, you can add effects, slow motion, cut, or whatever you want. is like a normal avi.
Okay, so the Video Bus can apply the following features:
1 - Fade to Colour
2 - Motion Blur Amount
3 - Video Supersampling
. . and that these "items" maybe switched on or off at will. Good, excellent! I was going further and trying to see if the P/C could be used. This is dumb thinking on my part, as why on earth would I want to apply the "same" P/C to tracks that would result in them being obscured? Got it now. DOAH!
You can apply anything to video bus that you can apply to any other track. All effects, etc. If the effect has a preset on, you will have to set that to nil and then a nil keyframe and then set keyframes to modify effect over timeline.
Fade to color, motion blur, video supersampling are envelopes that you can apply to the track. For example if you want bluring of motion, right click on Video Bus track header, check motion blur. modify the purple rubberband by setting points (double click) and moving up and down to increase or decrease motion blur. Same with fade to color and super sampling.
