Keyframe Preset

OhMyGosh wrote on 5/23/2007, 10:40 PM
When working with stills, I go to Pan/Crop and add half a dozen keyframes for an effect that I really like. I would like to be able to keep that effect as a preset because I use it so much, but when I go to presets, there are only presets for aspect ratios. I save it anyway, but it doesn't work on new stills. I know that I can copy the keyframes from one still to the other, but I don't want to have to recreate the effect for every project. Any help? Thanks. Cin

presets only save settings, not key frames. kind of a bummer, would be a great feature in future versions. :)

Thanks for the response Stephen. I was hoping that I was just missing something, but I guess not :( It really would be nice if you could save them for future projects. Thanks again. Cin

First, I assume you know that you can copy the event, then select the event to which you want to apply your "presets". Then click on Edit -> Paste Event Attributes.

So within a given project, you can get what you want.

One idea for how to make this available later would be to open two instances of Vegas; copy the event to the second instance, and then save that as a VEG file. Later, when you want to recreate the effect, just drag that VEG to the timeline of your new project and copy/paste event attributes. Then delete the VEG file from the timeline.

Not perfect, but better than starting from scratch.
