keyframing a masked object

once you have created a mask in the event pan/crop window, can it be animated with keyframes? i cut out the shape of a person and want to put it in motion, but it doesn't seem possible. any advice?

Yes, Move the timeline cursor in Pan/Crop to where you want the mask to change, then just move the points in the mask and a new keyframe will be created with the points in the new position.
