If you downres it to SD then it seems you can get an improvement in the color sampling along the way so yes it should give better keys.
Just how well it'll key in HDV I don't know. I think SPOT was saying it works quite well and I couldn't see any reason why it'd be any harder than PAL which is the same 4:2:0 sampling.

Welll....there's a big difference from PAL, in that you'll want to be keying on the 4:2:2 file from Cineform rather than the 4:2:0 long GOP that the camera spits out.
So far, it's looking good, but I've still got a few more tests. I've only just now gotten my Z1 to do a variety of tests with, and that's what is on tap for the next week. Having my own vs a lend-job when Sony has it free is a big difference. Until last week, there were only 12 of these suckers in the States.
