Seems like the folks in this group are always on top of the best deals around... I need to buy 4 17" LCD monitors. Refurbs are OK. I'd prefer them w/out speaks built in, with as narrow a bezel as possible. Black is preferable but cream will do. Anybody know of good deals? Our former LCD supplier (viewsonic) has changed their purchasing parameters and I can't afford the 500.00 they want for the new models.

However, you have to be willing to wait until the deal you want just happens to come around. It took me almost a month before I found what I was looking for in a hard disk, for instance.

They have posted quite a few deals for 17" LCDs recently. Go to this section:

Peripherals

to see the LCD deals. They show a Hitachi CML175B 17in LCD for $399, for instance (free shipping). Has a reasonably fast response time (obviously very important for video work) and both analog and DVI inputs.

A quick browse of fatwallet found this: SONY SDM-S73 17" LCD Monitor for $399 at Newegg. Great monitor, but no DVI if you need it.

Dell supposedly has really nice LCD monitors for their top model. I've been looking at getting one these recently.

They are pretty cheap refurbished
