Cute little device.

I paid more for the underwater enclosure I bought for my Sony DV camera.

I don't think this replaces zi8. Kodak still has the zi8 on its website and you compate this to it.
I haven't seen any indication if this camea does 60fps

I looke for a similar camera, and ended up with this one, all in all, I found it was the best choice:

The PlaySport apparently does 1080@30fps, 720@30fps, and 720@60fps, just the same as the Zi8. Here's another article:

Apparently, there is no external mic jack on this one. May be a deal-breaker for me, but I bet the zi8 will be coming down in price this summer.

OK, thanks for that. I was wondering if 60 fps was sacrificed to bring down the price. It seems the external mic was. That makes sense however on a waterproof camera. So it comes down to buy the zi8 if you need an external mic or need a camera before April or buy the PlaySport if you need a rugged or waterproof camera. Underwater slo-mo at 60 fps will probably make your vacation footage pop.

The only underwater vacation I will be taking is at the local pool. I spend a lot of time in the mountains however, thus the attraction to it being moisture proof.
