KUDOS to Devs: CGP . . . .

Grazie wrote on 2/22/2023, 5:20 AM

OK, this is half the story. As CGP doesn't have a "mask" for my Colour Grading, I've partnered CGP up with NewBlue Colorfast2 which DOES have Masking options based on ALL the items I need, and some.

CGP+NewBlue Colorfast2 to get masking.

This could well be a 'genius' moment. @Grazie ... could you please explain in more detail how you've achieved this - it would be much appreciated if you would. No hurry though - for me anyway - because in around 31 hours I'm off on an O/S trip and I'll be stuck with a basic laptop for the next 4 weeks.

For example, which comes first, Vegas CGP then CF2 - or CF2 first then CGP?

@Dexcon - Always susceptible to flattery, part of my DNA, just send money 😉.

OK, thems that "know" me will recognise I ain't no IT GuRu - I ain't. . But, this saves me from being restricted from the rigours of the Math and programming. I dabble and try things out. I've lauded the particular seductive talents of CF2 for years, and when CGP came out I was disappointed in one way it hadn't been packed with Masks options. Again, you'll remember my Masking in the Sony CC2 FX - yes?

So, I did experiment with Pre- and Post- chain links positions, and for me, with my footage and my over-blown lighting scenarios, I found that BOTH in Post were best, but your mileage may well be different.

No worries - £££££

Your approach with CF2 leads me to believe that it may well work the same way with BorisFX BCC FX with inbuilt Mocha masking applied. This is intriguing - maybe I should cancel the trip to test this - 2nd thoughts, maybe not.

It's a small ship cruise from Sydney to Singapore and then we've got a week in the wonderful and the world's only island-city-state of Singapore. Singapore has two seasons: hot and humid; and a bit more hot and humid but with heavy tropical rain and thunderstorms at around 4 or 5 o'clock in the afternoon. The trouble is that I'm not all that good with humidity - but from previous experience in Singapore I'm sure that I'll cope.

OK, this gets better and better! Saving as a Multi-plug, I can save and apply AND Alter each and every one accordingly to taste. Doing this has drawn out a better/faster/more urgent narrative.
