I just bought an 80 GB LaCie for my MAC Final Cut Pro class at college(dont laugh guys, lol..) Anyway, I planned on reformatting it for VV3 use when I was done with it.. HAve there been big problems reported? I hope not. If so, guess i'll have to figure them out.

I don't think there's been so much problems reported. I was asking cause I just bought the new 120G after watchin' lots of forums , etc... The only complaint I read was on this forum and since I asked the guy what had been the problems and he didn't answer... I think it may be another "blah-blah" about nothing... you know, people saying things "they heard of"...
For instance, I too hope there's no problems with those! I'll tell you when it's formatted ...

Cut me a break. I get in as often as I can. And yes, back in the other thread I pointed out that I've been *hearing* of lots of troubles. No hard evidence at all.

OTOH, they seem to cost at least $50 more than simply putting your own drive in a case so they're not something I'd be interested in. Actually, it looks like 120G drives are $210 now; add $90 for a case and the difference is higher.

Sorry Joe about this…Yeah, it’s true, you’ve been helping lots of people out here and it’s really appreciated. My mistake. I sometimes lose patience cause there is ALSO lots of people who say things and can’t actually back what they’re saying (I’ve even got one or two friends like that, imagine...).
By the way, I checked out the options and yes, the ADS case + drive is a little bit less expensive.
The LaCie 120Go drive installed/formatted very well (Win2K) but since it was a 5400rpm drive inside (Maxtor...), I returned it and changed it for two 80Go 7200rpm drives, since I’m not looking for a “portable” solution anymore for the next months... Thanks again!
