Lack of Forum tools & 3Q's

First of all , its about this forum , why does it lack too much handy options and Tools we see in other forums? such as new posts(since your last visit) , being able to attatch a pic next to nick name , insert pics to message , a poll .. etc .. i mean this is a software forum , arn't they able to improve the forums software? the post message page is funny , 2 words , Topic and Body .. nothing else!!! no text size, no hyperlink button :O( Vegas members need a forum as good as the software , i know its ment to be that way , but why? the name of Sony? this is the Hood of Vegas's software , it should be as good as it can.

Questions:

1- they say computetr monitors are diffrent from TV , and colours dont apprear the same on a TV set , but i work on a TV as my PC monitor(BenQ 32inch LCD) , so i dont have to check my colours on a TV before the final output? or is it the Video card thats changing the colours from monitor to TV?

2- i have been in this for 6 months , and now my PC is filled with those .fsk files Vegas creates next to every type of media i use in a project , isn't there a way to hide those?

3- parent child .. when i use it on 2 tracks , the upper with Text and the lower with Video , the upper track mutes all Video tracks beneath it after it finishes playing the text , can i apply the effect to an event instead?

thanks guys .. also i would like to thank the guys who helped setting up my Dual Monitor , its great , ill never go back to one :O)

You still need to check your colors on an external monitor. Video from your video card has a different gamma and color than does your firewire/digital output that is converted to analog.

No way to hide .sfk files, but you can delete them at any point. They are the files used to draw audio waveforms in your GUI

You somewhat lost me here. Parent/Child isn't an effect, it's a compositing process. You can apply the Mask Generator if you're only wanting to mask something, but an event can't be made to parent movement of another event. However, the upper track shouldn't be muting the lower tracks. Video fills the text in the upper track, said video coming from lower track. Anything else beneath should be visible. Lower track should be child of upper track, upper track should be in mask compositing mode.

I think the simplicity of this forum software is one of it's strongest points. A hyperlink button might be nice, but one can still post hyperlinks without a button if one chooses to. New posts are highlighted slightly differently than other posts. Everything else you mentioned would be a negative feature in my opinion.

Chienworks .. good point , i agree the simplicity of the forum colours and so are nice and neat , and i dont call to change that , but some other simple tools such as adding a button to Qoute somones post is also handy.

bump

I'm confused. What's the bump for? You indicated your question was answered...and then agreed with Chienworks about the question of icons and other forum idjits.
Is there a further question that you needed answered?

yeah i did , but i figured it out , so i deleted it ... sorry

just incase somone ever has my same issue and searches the forum , i found that i can manage the compositing by a small icon on the left side of the tracks list "Parent compositing Mode" , you can chose how are the tracks composited over the backgroud layer.

Along with Chienworks I am also a big fan of the simplicity of this format. I check in a couple of times per day and find it hugely simple to find what I want/need.

Beyond that, what I really love here is the access to those whose shadows I will never be worthy to walk in (from a Vegas user's perspective) - It has made my learning process much easier and has given me clues on how to make my productions much better.
