Lagging in the preview screen

Hey all,
Im doing a ball lighting effects and im using my lil son in the vid.. im trying to do a key frames with the ball to match his movement but the lagging is making it impossible.. any suggestion.. im using SVMS 11 suite..

What are your cpu specs? I would suggest going to Preview setting of "Preview>Auto". Right click in the preview area and check "Adjust size & quality for optimal playback".

Prerender your effects scenes. Not many systems can keep up with effects in realtime. You can prerender to file or to ram.

Thxs for the feedback, ive discovery that it work better with out all my effects during editing and once im done key framing it like i want it then I can go back and add my effects..

my pc specs are HP G60 Pentium dual core T4200 @ 2Ghz 4G ram and 64-bit OS vista...
