Large dual monitor recording. Questions on renderi

Ok so I have some videos recording from ym PC games. It uses dual monitors.

I have a 40xx x 1080p resolution. SO what I am doing for now is croping to 1920x1080p. Vegas cant handle editing in 40XX x 1080p resolution, It keeps freezing on me,'

So the question is how should I maintain the highest quality?

Right now I have few videos I have rendered to 1920x1080p in Main concept MP4

I plan on editing them after they are converted. How do I maintain quality after the second render when I combine and edit them?

Sony vegas movie studio 13.

I cant help on editing such huge resolutions but assuming you have got down to 1920x1080 at good quality then in my opinion based on tests I have done you have no need to worry about a loss of quality on the next render provided you use the highest quality settings.

In Project/Properties make sure Full Resolution Rendering Quality is set to 'Best'. When rendering click 'Advanced Options' then 'Customise Template'. On the Project tab make sure Video Rendering Quality is 'As project' or 'Best' and use the highest bitrate you can cope with. More than anything else poor quality is caused by too low a bit rate.
