Largest Vegas HD Input File?

I'm trying to load a 40mbps 720p file into Vegas 5. I've successfully loaded a 4.5GB MPEG2 file. It loads normally in about a minute (at most).

When I try any filesize that is larger, I cannot get the file to load. The harddrive spins constantly and about 1/2 hour later I get an exception message and the Vegas shuts down. At no time do I get any indication that file is actually loading.

Is there some type of filesize input limit for Vegas 5? Is this different in Vegas 6?

Thanks for the help. I'm hoping someone has worked with bigger file sizes in the past...

It is a new system, so I may have a swap file issue or something similar. Now that I know that it should work, I'll look more at my O/S configuration.

Yes, I have been able to play these files back through standard H/W and S/W MPEG2 decoders. I'm just trying to bring into Vegas for editing.

Thanks for the confirmation that this should work.
