Last Frame Black

Never had this problem before.

The last frame of my video is black. Not normaly a problem, but I am using this as the background for my DVD Menu. I split a clip for the begining and ending of the menu to make it appear continous. Even before I render the last frame it is still black. So I moved back a few frames and rendered selection and still have the problem. I expanded the Time Line to make sure there was no fade. There is none

Any Ideas? Did I change something to make this happen?

This is pretty common for me as well and I did the same as you did as well with no postiive result. You may want to try quantize to frames and see if that remedies it for you.

As a rule for DVD vid, I've found it best to include at least 1 sec of muted vid before and after.

For menus, *IF* you are talking DVDA, always manually set the duration for your mpg2, making sure to cut off at least to the last frame -- I normally add 1 frame to the loop when rendering mpg2 in Vegas so the audio remains unaffected. For transition mpg2 it's much easier since you just have to drag the triangle thing [some tech huh?] at the end of the clip to cut off the last frame or two.

Imported Vegas mpg2 always seems to have an irregular ending, which doesn't matter with titles because it's black then anyway. For menus and transitions, this little bit of trimming helps -- can have seamless play without using loop points and when exiting a menu.

Thanks for the advice. I quantized to frame and split the clip again. It worked.

In DVDA I always cut the ending of the menu short to get a flow of the video to make it seem continous.

Thanks to the both of you for your suggestions.
