Last question in relation to cards

OK,
No say you just wanted to view things from your computer on your TV. Which is better, the Adapter or the card? I already have a adapter that does the conversion, but if I were to get a TVATOR or something like that, how well would that work in comparison?

Card, always. Adaptors, and even most video cards, have exceptionally low resolution, and when sent to a television, look washed out and slightly blurry. Using a card such as the Matrox Parhelia works well, but otherwise, you'll find a low quality output.
Scan converters send a computer image to the television screen as well, but only very high end scan converters offer a reasonable picture image,. TVATOR is terrible quality by comparison. Same with Dazzle's convertor.
Unfortunately, to do this very well, it's very expensive.

For vid output, it's probably better to compress the video to VCD, SVCD, or DVD and then dub it to VHS or somthing, that is if your going that way. And just for presentations (clear) use that card, or what's another good brand?

I have a fire wire card now, isn't there some kind of attachment that allows you through your firewire card to out put video to Television?

Yep--your DV camcorder. Just connect its video out to your TV and you're all set. Just click the Preview on External Monitor button in the preview window. You won't get audio this way, but it should still be coming through your sound card.

So I'm guessing that the reason why people offer cards out on the market for fideo conversion from a PC to TV is only for people who dont have both a FireWire card and a DV Camera?

DV Camcorder, ADS DV Link, Canopus ADVC 100 box all work wonderfully for this. Compressing the video to anything but DV won't work as a printed tape very well, because then it's going through yet another conversion when it leaves the video card. Using Firewire, it works wonderfully, right from the Vegas timeline.

XTREEMMAK: no, you can use one or the other. You don't need both.
