How does vegas V3 deal with plugin latency?
I have noticed for example that running a drumkit through through a bus (running the Rennaissance comressor) for the purpose of compressing the whole kit will result in very noticable phasing when combined with the kit running through the master as the audio is obviously delayed through the bus.
Basically i would like to know what happens with plugins on inserts as well as i havent tried it other then using compressors and eq´s on the insert and i cant say that i have noticed latency on the inserts but it could very well be there?
Small suggestion as well ....Maybe a volume control for the click track or to be able to route it (the workaround is setting up a custom click track in a folder and then open the samples and raise or lower the volume but that´s not very efficient...pretty please.
Being able to edit fades on an entire group would be nice.
Also since i am at it......regarding copying media with project then i would really like to be able to do like an "Update save" where i can have Vegas go through the folder where i last did a copy all media with project and check if i have added files to the project since the last save and copy them to the folder as well.
Makes sense right?....time and time again i have to do another Copy all media with project just to make sure that i can throw away a sample bank i have loaded just to be sure im not throwing away a sound that might be used in any of numerous projects i am working on, quite simply its driving me mad/paranoid as i have lost a lot of time and effort this way as it means i have to regularily shuffle arouns huge projects just to add a couple of sound or edits to the folder.
And yeah ...I would love MIDI and VST support, i realise after sifting through some posts that this seems to be a heated discussion but in my opinion as a person who sent my Pro Tools system back to the shop , Vegas is more efficient/creative/spontaneous/friendly and as a person who does video work, music production , recording, commercials , mastering etc....all in Vegas, this could be the absolute recording /music creation tool bar none if supplied with these functions.
Other then that i am totally in love with Vegas.
I tell people about this prog all the time and everyone that gives it a chance is currently working on it.
As well as being a sound egineer Im also a teacher/consultant sound design at a local multimedia school and there i teach people how to use Vegas and Sf ( 50 licences there so treat me nice:))and its great for that purpose as well as its VERY user friendly and i have people doing souond design for picture in 4-5 days, so thanks for a great product but please realise that it has a lot of potential to be much better so do not abandon it for us audio guys.
Cheers
