Latest QT and Version 8C

I know some of you are still using 8C. I just tried the latest version of Quicktime.

Rendered an AVI DV to a QT DV. Render went well, could access all settings including audio. Video played fine in QT, but when I brought that file into Vegas, the streams were recognized correctly (even field order) but video was black. Audio was fine. Not sure what the deal is but the file seems to be a valid QT file so unless you have to use it in Vegas, seems to work okay.

Just wanted to provide this info.

Dave,
Since you have already installed this version (I have been chicken to do so), can you open .mp4 and .mov files and see both the video and audio on the timeline in 8.0c?

Guys,

Did this one ever get resolved. I just ran into it. I use 8C all the time, but almost never import Quicktime .mov files. But I did a bunch of them 6 months ago from a Canon still camera (with movie capability). All went very well.

Just tried again this weekend (same camera) and the file I imported had all black frames on the video track. I went back to the original project of last year and now all the video events for that were black too.

I think I updated Quicktime the last time it asked me to (i,e since last year's project). So, I assume this has to be a Quicktime version/Vegas version missmatch someplace.!!

By the way, all the .mov file play perfectly in Quicktime Player (7.6.6). It's only Vegas that cannot seem to read the video channel.

This has been discussed many times.
You need Quicktime 7.6 or 7.6.2 to work reliably with Vegas Pro 8.0c

MusicVid,

Thanks for the post. I'll drop back to 7.6.2.

I'm not too good at searching the forum. I didn't see the other posts.
