No, it's not possible. Part of this is a licensing issue, part of it is issues of weakening aspects of Vegas if I understand the engineers correctly. It would certainly be nice, wouldn't it?

One cool thing about the new PS CS is that there is a script to export PSD layers as seperate files. You can then bring them into Vegas and lay them on the timeline across tracks. Not as good but a decent workaround.

thanks, i guess ill just save my photshop files as individual files. would be a cool feature, kinda like after effects.

if you have Boris RED you can convert a photoshop file into it's layers within RED and then work on them within the Boris interface.

Layer effects are not supported so you have to copy/flatten layers within Photoshop first then turn them on and off within RED/Photoshop

Kinda like nested timelines :-)
