Leave or Remove Noise Gate, EQ, Compressor

When dealing with large projects, I tend to use a modular approach. Roughly this is render scenes then render the scenes into a part and then render the parts into a master.

Naturally I tweak the sound if needed on a scene or part but if nothing needs doing then should the default audio track FX Noise Gate, EQ and Compressor be removed from that scene or part?

Far as I know it doesn't make any difference.

They must use SOME DSP. The first thing I do when I have a new Vegas install is to remove the default plugins and resave the track as the new default track. I can add these FX if I need them later, and in the mean time my FX button is grey, not green so I know I'm not affecting (effecting?) anything on that track.

That said, I have been pleasantly surprised by the usefulness of the track EQ, much less DSP than waves.

Jesse: wouldn't it be easier to set your default track FX to none?

edit,

Oops, i misread. I thought you said it was the first thing you did with each new project, but now i see you said each new install. Never mind.

You might want to just turn them off default... and add only when you need...
