-- Legal: OK to Sell Old Vegas 6 to Friend?

I know someone asked this or similar Q a couple of years ago but couldn't find search result. I have v.8 and a friend could use my v.6 so he can upgrade to v.9. I entered the serial for my v.6 at Sony products site and as expected, it qualifies.

BTW, that's how I started using Vegas: starting with v.6, but have no use for it anymore. I just want to make absolutely sure that in considering selling it that:

-- A) It would be legal for me to do so.

Thanks.

You can sell V6 to a friend but you must contact SCS to get a new license key. Your friend can not upgrade from V6.

You can upgrade from V8 to V9 (or a later version).

Send a signed fax to support stating the old software and serial #, who it goes to and who it comes from. Name, address, and "E" mail address. Then they will send him/her an "E" mail with a new serial # or if the new person contacts them they will give him/her the new serial#. Then your old serial # will not work so you cannot use it again. Him/Her cannot upgrade.

OK, thanks to both of you for the clarification.
