Hi Randy,

Rendering to Best Quality?

You might try resample too.

Good morning Marty,
Yes sir I tried both. It seems it's gotta be user error though since it plays smooth prior to rendering...no?
While you're here Marty, it's a 13 second intro thingy I'll be using often on VHS and DVD. I recorded the audio (in Sonar) in 24 bit and would like to keep it at 24bit . Should I save it as MPEG2 for future use...IOW, if I stick it in a project (as MPEG2) and then render that project to MPEG2 will I have any problems...or if I use it in a project, then Print to Tape will there be a problem. If no problems, why would anyone save as .avi when .avi is so much bigger than MPEG2?
Thanks Marty,
Randy

Hi Randy,

Not sure what to tell ya about the lens flare... are your keyframes for the motion smooth or linear with smoothing?

As for saving as Mpeg... AFAIK, If you re-use the clip in Vegas, it will re-encode and degrade (possibly losing whole frames). If you are just using it in your DVD burning app, it may not re-encode - depending on your DVD app. Saving as DV .avi will ensure transparent re-use in Vegas.

What's the right answer? : ) I don't even know where to find this dialogue Marty (I looked in the event's "video fx" dialogue)

Gotcha...thanks again Marty

If you go to the PAN/Crop window of an event and add a keyframe point on the timeline of that window and right click it, you will see several different ways for the transition to take place, smooth, linear, etc.

Thanks Dave...I changed it from linear to smooth, then pre-rendered but couldn't tell a difference. Should I try all settings or would that be a waste of time?
Thanks again,
Randy

To be honest, not sure how the other settings will affect it. You may just have to play with each setting to see what they will do. I would think that smooth would have done the trick for you.
