Call Customer Service. They can help you out with this process.

Thanks. I take it that it is possible. I am in Peru that is why I went the email route. I will hold off for a couple of more days before investing in a phone call. Thanks

When i've done it i started the process with a Customer Support live chat just to verify everything. Then i emailed Customer Support with my serial number and contact information for the person i was transferring to. I got an email back the next day confirming the transfer.

Unfortunately i've heard rumors lately that Customer Support is very difficult to get in touch with.

The person that I am buying from just got an email reply saying that yes it can be done and how it can be done. Myself, I am still waiting for my reply from Sony. Thanks

Transfer was very painless. The seller emailed my information to Sony who then emailed me a new serial number. The whole process took about 3 hours.
