The light rays effect can be added to any video. But it is triggered by brightness within the scene, I believe.

If you need to be selective about the area, use the MATTE and draw around your window, add the light rays effect to that.

This could be a very interesting scamp

The light rays will work better on an alpha channel, so key out the darker pieces and then save project

Start a new project call in the veg file then apply the rays to the highlights now the rays will be able to shine down and through the clip

Rory, I love the way you are thinking. Often I see the "glimmer" (pun NOT intended, but I'll take it anyway!) of an idea when I am experimenting with Vegas, only to find I have kinda lost my way amongst the compositing.

I've applied Light Rays to both text and vid. With the latter, I always had to put up with, well, dark rays.



Now why didn't I think of that gem of freakin' genius?? :O)

The velvet matter plugin does great light rays in Vegas. Little spendy though. Wish they'd have a Christmas special :)

I 2nd Marc's comments, I wrote a tutorial on the VASST site a while back on using the Light Rays Effect from the Velvet matter bundle of FX ( Very worth while filter pack for anyone who does ray FX ).
