Light Rays effect and frame sizes.

I've been experimenting with HD some lately and have hit a snag. The Light Rays effect doesn't seem to take frame sizes into account properly. I set up an effect that looks great in the tiny preview window, but then shows a much reduced effect in the final rendered image.

Here are some illustrations:

(sorry, one of the images is rather large)

Am i missing a setting somewhere? How do i get the final HD version to show the same level of effect as the smaller preview window?

Thanks for any help. :)

Quite the pretty pickle you got yourself there, I think that it must be a bit of a glitch on the behalf of vegas. Probably the way that the light rays are created - could be that it's set to simply go a certain pixel length rather than a percentage, and sooooo, perhaps there's nothing that can really be done about it, unless it's fixed in Vegas6, and of course - that's assuming that you're planning on buy the upgrade :)

I would guess that it might be better in 6 as it seems that 6 is geared more and more towards HD.

Yeah, that's what i'm figuring. Getting the upgrade is a definate must, for many reasons. For that matter, the base animation i'm doing for this project probably won't finish rendering until Vegas 6 ships anyway. *sigh*

Did you check your effect with monitoring set to Best ?
I just had a similar problem with another effect ; when viewed at Preview, there would be these thick black lines everywhere but if I turned the preview to Best, these lines disapeared.
I tell you, there was a HUGE difference.
So from now on, when I use "serious" effects, I always preview it with Best enabled to adjust.

I just checked. I get identical results with Best, Good, and Preview. Draft is slightly different, sometimes the effect is more pronounced but not always. It's usually just more ragged.

Kelly, Have you done a comparision render to see which effect you end up with?
Jimmy

Edit: Never mind didn't fully read your first post Sorry!
